Massey Services - Osceola Lawn Care

I’m highly disappointed in the service I have received since the day I signed a contract with them three years ago. I had just put in a new Lawn when I got their service and now my backyard is nothing but weeds and half of my front yard is weeds. I highly questioned if they were doing what I was paying them for so I did have cameras added to my property and on several occasions my tech left without ever entering my backyard. Today was another one of those days where he was in my backyard less than two minutes and he didn’t go in far enough to even be picked up by my second camera. My ring doorbell and several front cameras didn’t catch him either. Same situation I had before… he doesn’t do the whole yard and totally skipped the backyard, and my lawn condition shows it. I know the problem isn’t with my cameras, because I had someone here to give me a quote on new cement curbs in my front and back yards. That was picked up on all my cameras.. I would suggest you keep looking if you’re in the market for a Lawncare service. I called and canceled today because I know nothing will change. I even had a manager out here and he said that he would take care of the lawn when the weather got better and possibly do plugs to get my grass growing again in the backyard…that was a year ago. I’ve totally wasted my money the past several years. I would not recommend them, and if I know anybody looking for Lawncare, I would tell them don’t bother with Massey. As far as I’m concerned, I shouldn’t be billed for today knowing he didn’t do a complete job.

As some reviewers says this should be a 0 but no other option. I have been using Massey for almost a year now. I started on the Lawn program and switched to get my shrubs covered. I work long days and usually when Massey would come to my house I would sometimes get a call to remind of the upcoming service. I can't really account for every service rendered and time spent on my yard. But the pictures below show that Massey is not providing information to their clients and just providing sub-par services and moving on to the next service. In fact going into their website and clicking on what services have been provided for example product use on your lawn and shrubs is not available to click and see as the button although it should be a clickable link does not work. Why did I cancel their service? Last week they came to my home on Saturday fortunately I was home and I witness the service from start to finish. The technician drove up to my home parked right in front and sat in the truck for about 3 minutes before coming out with a 5 gallon bucket walked near my shrubs, threw some fertilizer down walked around my house and 2 minutes later he was back at his truck. He put a flag down and then grabbed the backpack sprayer walked around my house and back to the truck he went in a matter of 1-2 minutes. He then put the backpack away got in his truck where he spent about 2-3 minutes doing paperwork which I can't even see or read. The photos should give a description of what my yard looks like and my palm tree in front which he did not even touch or has probably touched. I have since canceled my service and did not even receive a call from management which indicates that we are just a number in their subscription plan. Buyer be ware, as most of these companies are loading technicians with heavy work loads and this creates a system for which technicians are forced to take short cuts to meet their quotas. I can't blame these technicians as companies now days want to earn more profit and leave the customer to bare the consequences. I do know this information because, I have first hand knowledge of the business and the functionality for this was one of the reasons from my early exit as I worked for 2 major competitors here in the Orlando area. I did sales inspections and was also a technician when I first began and after time noticed that the services rendered were creating a lot of cancelations and hurting my pay by loosing commission from ineffective services.

Absolutely the worst lawn care experience I’ve ever had. I switched to Massey Services expecting professional lawn and pest care, and instead watched my healthy St. Augustine lawn turn yellow, fill with weeds, and die completely while under their “care.” When I raised the issue, their own regional manager admitted my lawn was unsalvageable but claimed it wasn’t their fault because the weeds now present weren’t “covered.” The real issue wasn’t weeds — it was chinch bug damage, which Massey was supposed to monitor and treat. They failed to do that, and my lawn was destroyed as a result. I even sent a certified demand letter to both their corporate office and local branch — no response, just a $75 refund for the final service to make me go away. I’ve since filed a formal complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), which regulates pest control companies in this state. Consumers deserve to know how little accountability this company shows once they’ve collected your money. If you value your lawn, stay far away from Massey Services. They will blame anything and everything except their own negligence.

If I could, I would give Massey negative stars. They allowed chinch bugs to destroy my lawn and have taken an unreasonable amount of time to address the issue. This process has dragged on for over three months with no resolution in sight — it’s beyond frustrating. (More than a month since they burned off the bad lawn). Apparently, they only work with one sod vendor, which is hard to believe and even harder to accept as an excuse. For a company with Massey’s reputation, I expected a much higher level of customer service and accountability.

They were unable to control the weed but were very responsive, even did some re-sodding but made it worse. The sod patches were placed on top and really stuck out, eventually leaving the resodded area worse and now uneven. The fact customer service was so responsive I stuck with them after I had to resod my yard. This is when I truly learned they we just not capable, weeds grew fast as the new sod. Over 5K later, lawn of many various weeds, I ended our relationship of over 20 years. The one star is for customer response
