I’ve used this company in the past and had generally positive experiences, which makes this situation especially disappointing. During a recent cold spell, my heat stopped working, so I called for service. The technician, Ray Payne, came out and quickly declared that my system was essentially unrepairable. Shortly after, I was presented with a quote of around $10,000 for a basic system replacement, with no meaningful attempt to diagnose or repair the issue. Something didn’t sit right, so I called another HVAC company for a second opinion. They arrived the very next morning and had my system fully operational with a relatively minor repair. No replacement needed. No scare tactics. Just competent troubleshooting. That makes it clear that the first visit was not about fixing my system — it was about selling me a new one I did not yet need. I paid $50 for a service call that resulted in misinformation and a blatant upsell, during freezing weather when homeowners are especially vulnerable. Mistakes happen. Bad diagnoses happen. But declaring a system “not fixable” when it clearly is raises serious trust concerns. HVAC companies are invited into people’s homes during urgent situations, and honesty matters. I won’t be using this company again, and I strongly recommend others get a second opinion before agreeing to any major replacement quotes from them.

Once again convinced that some of these companies pay to have only the positive reviews posted. We called Pro Tech when our AC unit went out last summer. They, and a couple other companies, came out to give estimates and we were happy with the way their salesperson explained things to us. Since the price was competitive, we decided to use them. After the installation, we had white goo dripping from the unit right onto our garage floor. We called multiple times and after two unsuccessful attempts to fix it with a junior tech, they finally fixed on the 4th try. Fast forward 6 months or so after we sold our house, and we learned that there was an open permit that had never been inspected or closed out by Pro Tech and was causing a lien against the sale. We made NUMEROUS calls to remedy it and then when they didn’t remedy everything on the first visit, their office manager just ghosted us. If it hadn’t been for me working directly with the county inspector, this could have delayed our closing. I must say that our experience with Talonda who answered most calls was great. How she can deal with such incompetence in her office staff and still stay so pleasant with customers is a mystery. Be careful not to pay or sign off on anything until they do the job. The chances of getting it done right after you cut the check might be very low.

I purchased a brand new Trane AC unit from Pro Tech AC & Plumbing for $13,000 in October 2023. Since then, I’ve had regular service with them, including a check-up in February 2025, when I was told the system was “good to go” for summer. Yesterday, my AC stopped working, so they had Michael from Pro Tech come out. Within less than a minute, he claimed the problem was a leak in the coil—the same coil they installed not even two years ago. His first recommendation? Join their “Comfort AC Club.” Next, I was quoted $730 for coolant (which is outrageous), and then $2,600 for the coil replacement. Again—Pro Tech installed this unit less than 2 years ago. At no point did it feel like they were trying to help, never opened the unit to show me, he just knew from “experience”. Michael made it clear the only objective was to make money, not stand behind their work. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I’d get a call “in a few days.” Still waiting. Extremely disappointed. This felt more like a shakedown than service. If you’re thinking about using Pro Tech, think twice—especially when it comes to long-term value and customer care after the install. Update* 8/1/25 The service supervisor called and was very nice on the phone and sent out a tech for free to make sure 100% that it was the coil and mentioned a discount. Not only was the discount still over $1000 more than other quotes I have received, THEY CRACKED THE FRONT OF MY UNIT DURING THE SERVICE. Don’t walk RUN from this awful company. I requested a refund for their useless comfort club and they refuse to refund it even though they said they would. 0 stars, and never contact me again. This is not how you run a business. Update* 10/13/25 I continue to have problems with the unit this company installed. I have hired Dynamic Heating & Air to maintain the unit moving forward. PLEASE read this whole review and ignore their 4.9 stars on google, or you will fall victim to this scam just as I have. Worst company ever.

Came to my house to diagnose a problem with my air conditioner. All I asked for was to diagnose the problem and provide me an estimate to fix the unit. I provided them an opportunity for work, repeat business, and verbal referrals. They came out to my house and wanted to charge me $650 just to provide an estimate. No thank you. You wasted my time and tried to rip me off in the process. Enjoy your negative review now ;)

I had a great experience with Pro-Tech HVAC thanks to their field service technician, Raymond Ferrer. He responded quickly and handled everything with the highest level of professionalism. Raymond was humble, respectful and approachable (which made it easy to ask questions). He took the time to explain everything clearly and in detail so I fully understood what was going on with our AC. I really appreciated how considerate he was of our home and property and how he kept our needs in mind while working to get the AC back up and running. His experience showed through in both the repair and the helpful suggestions he provided. I highly recommend Raymond and Pro-Tech HVAC to anyone who needs reliable and trustworthy service 10/10
